Doing the ‘do: Twist out

Hey all! I haven’t been doing twist outs since I had my kinky twists put in in October. Last week, I wore my accidental protective style: two strand twists put into bantu knots and worn curly. On Friday evening, I decided to unravel my twists. Boy, lemme tell you! My hair looked HAWT! And it’s grown — thanks to not playing with it all the time. Too bad I didn’t have any where to go (my scalp was acting up too much to wear that style out, but I digress).

Anyhoo, I decided to take a couple of pictures to show you what it looked like. Here go:

After a long week -- back to work kicked my backside this week, thankfully I didn't have to do my hair every day.
Texture shot: My husband says I look like Medusa. Bun' him.

I don’t normally talk about length — I think that we put too much emphasis on it instead of healthy hair, but it’s nice to know that your hair is growing. I did a length check last week and my hair is growing really well — it’s almost shoulder length when stretched. When my hair was relaxed, the nape was just passed shoulder length, but the sides could never catch up, they would only grow to about chin length. I believe that that part of my hair was the most prone to breakage. Now, since not relaxing my hair and going natural, I’ve seen a big difference.

One of my hair goals, aside from strong, healthy hair, is to reach full shoulder length, when stretched, in 2010. We’ll see, we’ll see.
