OT: Love reading? Join Books n’ Brunch

Not only do I enjoy playing around with my hair (and hopefully I’ll be able to do more of that soon, my dad is doing much better and is being released from the hospital today! He still has a way to go before he’s back to himself, but he’s a fighter), but I love to read. During the course of my life at the hospital — and really it has been my life for exactly four weeks — I’ve been reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I’m finishing up the series so I can watch the movie while The Hubby is away.

Anyhow, forgive my rambling! I got an email yesterday from reader Sherika telling me about her book club, Books n’ Brunch. It sounds like a lot of fun! Once my life settles down, I may come out. This is how she describes the club:

Description: A group of awesome women get together to discuss and debate books from topics raging from, lifestyle, love, self help politics, memoirs, biographies, and much more! Along with topic discussions, a potluck style brunch will be served!

Goal: To create fellowship among women and to explore the wonderful world of books!

Date/Time: The book club will be meeting up 8 times a year so the last Sunday of every other month. First meeting January 30, from 1pm to 3pm.

Location: Whitby, Ontario

First Book Pick: Straight Talk No Chaser:  How to Find, Keep and Understand a Man by Steve Harvey

Interested in joining? Email booksnbrunch@hotmail.ca

Hope some of you are interested in joining and hanging out with smart women to talk books! Happy reading!

Unfortunately, he took sick just before Christmas and that threw the entire family for a loop. Thanks! I’m happy he’s finally breaking out of the hospital too! Please do keep us in your prayers — we still need them.
