Doing the ‘do: ‘Knot’ impressed

Last week, I decided to try out the flat twists on wet hair. I did it Thursday and when I opened the twists on Friday morning, I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not. As the day went on, a curly ‘fro turned into a tangled, knotted mess… and I was going to the Maxwell concert! Sniff!! Alas, I’ve learned in my natural hair journey, sometime you just have to rock it like it was meant to look like that.

That’s what I did. I got some hair jewelery — I’ll take pictures and show you — and worked it out as best as I could.

Here’s the picture I took Friday morning:

I'm looking a little choked right here... Nevermind that! Doesn't the hair look cute? Too bad it didn't stay that way.

And this is the mess that was my hair by Friday night.

One word: sigh.
One word: sigh. I had to pull it back because it was just tangly and miserable-looking. But I worked it... OK, I tried to work it.

Sadly, I was participating in my work’s community service day on Saturday morning (all for a good cause, people), so I couldn’t deal with the knotting tragedy that was on my head. As I’ve said before, my hair does not tangle when she is happy. When she is surly (like she was after the flat twist out), Lord only knows what I’m gonna get.

So, I’m going to take a break from the flat twist out experiment ’cause I’m not impressed with how it’s been turning out. I’m back to my good, ol’ favourite style: the two strand twist out. Ain’t it cute?
