Summer, summer, summer hair!

This summer has been busy — I can’t lie. So, my poor little blog has had to take a back seat to all the other things that have been going on. I’m sure in August or September things will calm down and I’ll be back to blogging more regularly.

Not only has this summer been busy, but it’s been hot and humid — quite a change from summer 2009 where it was cold and wet. It’s been interesting seeing how my hair reacts to the different temperatures and dew points this summer. One thing that I’ve had to reincorporate into my regimen in using gel. I’m not a big gel fan in the winter, but in order to keep a style looking somewhat fresh when it’s 40C, a little gel goes a long way.

Here are some pictures of my hair this summer:

I recently purchased some Eco Styler Olive Oil Styling Gel and I’ve finally got my hands on Kinky-Curly Curling Custard when I was in Miami. It was expensive $17.99 for 8 oz, but I’ve been killing to try this stuff out. I broke out the Eco Styler on Saturday night to do a dry twist out. I brushed out an old two-strand and flat twist updo and twisted with Eco Styler. The next time around, I’ll take some pictures.

Very nice! You may want to give Carol’s Daughter Kizzi Stay Put or her Loc Butter which has more beeswax. Those are good alternatives to gel. I did a twist out with the Kizzi and it came out awesome.
I did a product review on my blog but I forgot to add the Kizzi! Check it out.

Kizzi’s Stay Put sounds good — but it has coconut oil, a big no-no for me. Now the Loc Butter sounds pretty good. I may have to check that out. Thanks for the tips! I’ll check out your review 🙂
