Dried hair = better style

This post was supposed to be posted last week before I went to South Beach — super fun trip which I will be blogging about just now. Until then, read up about what happens when you don’t dry your hair properly. Miami post to come.

I meant to wash my hair on Sunday, but Mom and I were on the move after church shopping. By the time I got home, I was so tired and hot (it’s been SO hot here lately. I’m not complaining, I’m just saying) that I couldn’t be bothered to wash my hair although my scalp was so grimy. I really should have, but laziness got the best of me.

Anyhow, on Monday morning, I washed my hair and deep conditioned for the entire work day. I actually planned to rinse the DC out early and twist from the end of my workday (4:30 pm) until the start of my volunteer meeting (7 pm). The problem was that Monday night was pretty busy — I ended up working until five, the meeting was rescheduled to six and my mom had dropped by. At 7:30 pm, my meeting was done, I ate dinner and didn’t start twist my still pretty wet hair until 8:30 pm.

I finished twisting around 10 pm and hit the sack knowing that my hair wasn’t going to dry by 6:00 am when I had to get up and go into the office. So, readers, this is what your hair looks like when you don’t let your hair dry properly:

Smile! See how my hair is fizzy? It didn't help that it was 40 degrees outside.
Fizz central. Not a great look, but I still had to work it.

Sigh.

I re-washed the frizzy mess and did small twists that I rocked in Miami (until the humidity did me in and I untwisted them). Anyhow, that story will come once I go through the pictures 🙂

It’s okay girl. That’s the blessing of natural hair. We can rock the frizzies and it’ll still look like that’s how it was supposed to be.

Hope you had a great time in Miami! My birthday was on the 15th so I’m biased on the timing of it all, lol!

@zainab1- thanks! I thought it didn’t look too hot, but what can you do?
@Nikkele – all you can do is roll with it and that’s what I did… until I could re-wash my hair. We had a blast! My sister’s b-day was the 16th, so we were in the middle of SoBe to celebrate! Hope you had a great b-day!
