Beauty post: Eyebrow obsession!

Today, I’m starting something new: a beauty post! I’ve never really been into makeup and stuff like that. I always liked it on a high level – use some concealer to mask some dark marks, paint my toenails in the summer (mainly because they are ugly) and things of that sort, but I’m certainly not a beauty blogger. Last fall, I started dabbling in eyeshadow and I really liked it! It was fun to mess around with colours and makeup. I don’t know, as I get older, I’m more interested in enhancing my gorgeousness rather than stressing out that I don’t think I’m as gorgeous as someone else. Anyhow, look for more beauty posts in the future!

I don’t have strong eyebrows. They are very, very light. I’m usually jealous of my sister-in-law and any woman who has good eyebrows that are easily shaped and are thick.

So, for 2011, I’ve decided to work on my eyebrows. I know, it’s not really that deep, but eyebrows shape your face! I watched this video on You.Tube and decided to follow her tips. BTW, she has gorgeous brows!

I bought my angle brush last weekend! I just need a good pencil to draw in the shape. I haven’t had the opportunity to really do my makeup — I’ve been at home and at my parents’ house. Why waste the makeup? My girlfriends and I are supposed to be getting together at the end of month, so I’ll be breaking out the brows then. So, ladies, do you have any tips/tricks to getting a beautiful brow — especially if you have light eyebrows?

  1. I just fill them in when necessary. My brows are thick, but see-through. I get them threaded and I love it.

I used to get my eyebrows threaded and I didn’t mind getting it done. What I hated was the time! Making the appointment, waiting to be seen, having to schedule time to go. I’m obviously losing patience as I get older. That’s one of the reasons why I’m interested in doing my brows myself.

I have the opposite problem of you – dark brows against my pale skin and blonde hair. I like to get mine shaped professionally and then just maintain them myself. I get mine done professionally about twice a year.

I was thinking about that — just getting them done and then keeping them up… but I know myself. I would rock them and get lazy and they would grow in and I would be back at square one.

Eyebrows are a big deal if you want to enhance your looks. I fill mine in at times but sometimes the color I use makes them look too harsh. I was thinking about getting permanent eyebrows. My bestie had hers done and they look so nice. It looks just like penciled in brows, and as you go they get lighter so it blends in nicely.

I’m still playing around with colours. I had an old MAC eyeshadow in a deep brown that I’m playing around with. I haven’t done the full thing as yet — I’ll upload pics when I finally do them. Permanent brows… interesting… I’m not sure I’m brave enough to do it, but I’ll have to look into it.

They’re tattoos. They draw them on first so you can see what it would look like. I’m not one for doing thing you can’t change, but since I went with my friend when she had them done, it gave me some courage. I am going to get my eyebrows waxed today and see if I still have the itch to get a “browtoo”, lol!!
